I hadn't even heard of this place before I looked up parks near the Richmond International Raceway, and I am so glad to have found this treasure! The play area is so much fun, with animal statues children can climb on, slides, swings, and it all seemed so well kept. We ate a picnic under the shady trees, played in... More

Nice and very relaxing area. The fish eye view aquarium was really nice. Also loved the park they had things for kids on multiple agree levels.

It is so disappointing to see people throwing trash everywhere. The lake water is nasty. Play area is the only thing that is good about this place.

The center itself is well-maintained and interesting, with a great underwater view into their large pond housing native fish. There is a playground across the parking lot. There are usually a variety of birds to see around the lakes, as well as turtles and a few other animals. Fishing is allowed in two of the lakes, making it a good... More

I brought my son's friend here one Sunday. I should have checked the opening times for Sunday as they only open at 12. Since we got there at 11am, we walked around the lake and observed the nature around us. An hour is long for a little boy who really wants to get inside the building but he did well... More

Visited this nature center while visiting the area for a sporting event and had some time to burn ! This is not a several hour place ! Kids loved the nature center and all the turtles ! We took an easy walk around the lakes which was enjoyed by both my three and eight year old ! An easy stroll... More

This is a beautiful natural reserve so close to the city yet feel miles away. This was a great way to spend time with the kids

One of the finest, and most comprehensive, nature centers we've visited. Visitors are first greeted by a simple sign which states that admission is free (this is one we would have gladly paid for). There was so much to see: An underwater view of a manmade pond, a stuffed black bear (be sure to look for the hidden chipmunk in... More

Went there mid week so not many people. Has a very nice playground for all age children. Wildlife museum very small, but lots of turtles to see in the pond. Has picnic table and a large field for children to run.

This is not the best place I can suggest but good place to spend time with kids. They have few reptiles like various snakes, turtles. They have lot of turtles in the lake too. And a aquarium too. So if you have time you can watch them. Kids will enjoy external activities which is available. There is no entry fee... More
