Stopped in here with my wife and 9 year old son on a quick trip to Richmond. The nature center is great, but be advised to check the hours of the center. They closed at 4:30 pm the day we were there, but the hours are different for the seasons. The nature center had a great collection of Virginia wildlife... More

You can't beat the price - FREE! The nature center is set up to inform and entertain. So many outside activities as well - awesome playground, fishing, nature trails. This is a wonderful place to take your kids.

I lived inrichmond many years before I found this wonderful park. The 3 lakes are great. You can walk , ride bikes, even fish . The playgrounds are great for young and older children . And the best is the nature center where you can see turtles and fish and all that lives in the lake from a glass wall!!... More

I went here with my wife and kids. The trails are nice along the lakes and easy to walk with little kids. The nature center is a worth a stop if it is open. The playground has some nice equipment for kids of all ages.

We stopped to visit on a hot humid sunny day, so we did not walk the trails. The deck around the building offered great views of the very active turtles that inhabit the pond. We were also able to view their outdoor aquarium from the top. Inside was a large seating area for underwater viewing of the same tank. In... More

Free entertainment for a variety of interests and age levels. Have been with small children and high school aged kids. Can fish with license but need to bring your own equipment. Nature Center is air-conditioned and wild life is well described. Handicap accessible.

Just recently found the center - it was great! Inside there are exhibits to walk around and see. Outside there is a little lake to walk around and a playground area that's fairly extensive! Love that it's free!!

We have been here before, it was a little rainy, but ok on the trails. Lots of turtles in the pond off the deck. The nature center was not open & the playground was crowded for a while with vans of kids from a summer camp

Henrico County Rec & Parks does a fantastic job at maintaining this nature center. They have a huge fish tank, and they have other tanks of snakes, turtles, and lizards. It's a great place for kids to learn about animals, and they can also enjoy the playground equipment outside. This is a great no-cost activity for any family!

Three Lakes has a lot to offer - multiple places to fish, if you like doing so. It is nicely shaded around the lakes, as they are in the woods, which helps when you go in the summer. It's also very pretty in the fall with the leaves changing. They have two playgrounds, one for younger children and the other... More
