Part of the Poe museum is the oldest building in Richmond (1700s). None of the buildings are any he actually lived in, but the museum has amassed a small collection of Poe’s childhood artifacts, furniture from places he lived/ worked, and some items from families...More

We knew we wanted to check out the EAP Museum and I am so glad we did. It was inexpensive, and had a great deal of information about Poe. They had the staircase and his bed from his childhood home and so many interesting facts...More

PROS: free parking, good 45 min entertainment , varied artifacts from Poe from childhood to his death. Located in several buildings – one of which is the oldest pre colonial building in VA. CONS : not much in the gifts shop. Can be tight in...More

$8 adult admission. Very small museum with appropriate signage and information. Gift shop has many unique Poe related gifts. Preservation Richmond donated the Old Stone House.

I found this place to very boring and pricey for the exhibts it offered. I would rather read his works than see this house ne never lived in.

This museum is small but delightful. In addition to the visitor's center, there are three additional buildings plus the shrine around a lovely courtyard. The exhibits are very informative about Poe's life. One of the exhibits was specifically dedicated to debunking misinformation about Poe's life...More

Really bummed to get here after driving for 6 hours to find construction and the gift shop closed too. The displays were very interesting and we did learn so much more about Poe, but I would have loved to support the museum with a purchase...More

Admission is free and it’s adjacent to the Holocaust Museum. The House is VERY cramped and there is construction going on in the garden. Not much is on display, but I still would recommend going.

I stopped by the Poe Museum while it is undergoing preservation work, so only half of it was open. They weren't actually charging admission, only requesting $5 donations. The main exhibit was open -- which is quite small, but decently informative -- and the Unsolved...More
