Visit the catacombs
Oct. 2020
It's a pretty simple church, but the true gem is underground. Burial chambers were used between the 2nd and 7th centuries. Very interesting, accessible on a guided visit.

Its closed
Jun. 2019 • Couples
Disapointed to find it closed for refurbishment / renovation. Be aware of the one way system around it and there is more than one No Entry sign obscured by trees. Other very narrow streets.

Pretty, simple church
Sep. 2018 • Couples
Simple church with interesting alters. The bones of a saint are displayed under glass.

I felt it was worth the 3 euro to visit the catacombs. My visit was not guided, the docent only opened the gate after giving me a 3 ~ 4 minute overview of the church and catacombs.

Very interesting catacombs

If you like to get a touch of old catacomb atmosphere you are at the right spot. Inside of the church you can easily access the catacombs. The church is impressive. Pay 3 Euro

Serene basilica
Sep. 2017 • Couples
Beautiful basilica, but very simple. The remains of Saint Antiocus are here. As well as the ancient catacombs under the basilica. The entrance fee is 5 euro and then you can visit the catacombs (without a guide, but the guide opens the gate for you). The catacombs are part of a wide spread network of catacombs under Sant'Antioco. We enjoyed our visit, especially because it isn't very touristic and there is a nice square in front of the basilica where you can enjoy a drink.

Interesting history lesson
May 2017 • Family
Great place to stop to get a history lesson on Sant Antioco and to visit the catacombs. Our guide was very knowledgable and it was sad to learn that the younger generation is heading to Germany to make a living and not staying in Sardinia to support the local community/ageing population.
