Visited the Visitor Center in December 2016, having no expectations. Found most helpful staff and information about the city, the canals, mills, Jack Kerouac. Left the place with more knowledge than when I stepped in :-)

There is a parking lot around the corner from the museum, but we ended up parking on the street and walking over. The people who worked here were very friendly and helpful. Right after we arrived, a man told us the movie had just begun, so we walked in and saw it then. The movie was well done and told... More

Was disappointed - expected to hear more about the canal and what we were seeing - instead received a sociological well-spoken expose from an immigrant from the Dominican Republic.

What a gem! Visited this place with friends and loved the history of the working girls, the factory mills and the rooming house. We also took the canal ride that went through the locks. Although it was not the Panama Canal, this smaller version was extremely interesting. This city went from booming industrial to distressed and back up into a... More

This is the place to start your visit. The film is great and they offer tours or rides at many times from here. The exhibits are great and the rangers are amazing.

The visitor center is part of the Lowell silk mill. Check out the short film in the museum theater, the history of Lowell. Book early your two hours free tour with trolley ride and a visit to two mills, Suffolk mill and boot mill. Highly recommended!

When you visit the National Historic Park make sure you stop at the visitor's center first. There is a great museum inside that will give you a good overview of the Industrial Revolution in Lowell, and also touches on other important parts of Lowell's history.

know. The Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center in Lowell Massachusetts is very interesting. I had no idea what was created and accomplished in Lowell. Walk around the center street areas. There are great restraunts and shops also.
