I wouldn't go to Cambridge simply to see this statue, but if you are planning to tour Cambridge or Harvard University, you certainly should stop and see the John Harvard statue, which was created by the same artist who sculpted Lincoln's statue in Washington DC....More

I touched the leg of the statue (from which all the paint is gone because of all the touching), I was told my children will go to Harvard.

It is a statue, fine, but we found out that John Harvard was not even the founder of the university. They took his name a few years after the university was established. So it is not a big deal. What is nice are the buildings...More

I was at Harvard University, so I had to also see John Harvard statue, but I didn't feel anything special. There was a big crowed around it all the time, so it was almost impossible to watch it properly.

This famous statue is a must when visiting Harvard. However, the crowds around are terrible then, with all the picture taking involved. Go early and avoid them, even 9am will do.

There is much history behind the statue of this university's namesake. Again, a tour guide gives a tourist so much more information than that which can be gleaned by just walking through and reading markers.

We where on campus Friday during July. The campus was crazy busy. There were students set up with tables. Tour groups were going every which way. This statue was very difficult to reach. We were on campus for about an hour. We then toured Harvard...More

There were no pictures of Harvard. This is a statue of an unnamed student. His shoes are golden from having been rubbed for good luck. Sometimes a cue with all the people who want to get their picture taken with him.

Everyone heard about Harvard and when anyone reaches the statue, it feels something different. Taking a picture next to the statue must be a dream for many tourist. And the Harvard Library is another place to see close to the statue.
