This is a lovely spot in a very attractive quadrangle of Harvard University and Radcliffe College. One should combine it with a walk around Harvard Yard and the Square. However, only Harvard undergraduates have borrowing rights.

originally developed as Radcliffe's Library, the Schlesinger's collections are unequalled. Manuscript holding from prominent women, wonderful changing exhibits, digital projects and a great curatorial staff make for a wonderful facility for scholars and researchers. Lectures and seminars open to the public add the this library's important contributions to documenting the role that women have played in society writ large.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. You... More

I was a research assistant at the Schlesinger library for several years and had the privilege of working with the papers of some icons such as Alice Paul. The library is open to the public and has an amazing collection of historical cookbooks as well as access to the Harvard Library system.

I am so glad I forced my son to help me find this. There are great places to sit, a pretty open lay-out that I liked, and as my son got his library card, I had a nice chat with the hospitable woman who was helping. For students who need to get away from academic pressure, I think this is... More
