On Thanksgiving we went to see two Akira Kurosawa's movies shot in 1961 and 1962 (Yojimbo and Sanjuro) at Brattle Theater, which, perhaps, was the only public place opening on holidays. We are lucky and thank Brattle Hall for all this. It the sort of...More

Saw an interview with Rachel Dratch here for the Women in Comedy Festival. I was definitely surprised by how small and intimate the theatre is. Definitely a bit run-down, but a landmark nonetheless.

Walk thru Harvard Yard and you will find thw wonderful Memorial Hall which has the wooden built Brattle Theater. They have lots of activities there, some of them free. Easy access and friendly volunteer host.

There's movies of all kinds here. It's the best theater around to discover new gems or revisit old favorites. And the popcorn has real butter for less than chain theaters! Give these wonderful people a try!

We went to the Fall Focus Film Festival here. The movies were great. The crowd was outstanding. The theatre is comfortable and beautiful. This is well worth a visit or 10!

We visited for a talk by author Lawrence Wright. Drink on arrival from the bar (gluten free snacks available and alcohol). Seating available for (I'd guess) around 300. We sat right at the back, far right, and still we could hear and see fine. If...More
