Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

you will be walking here if you try to see all of Harvard Square. It has a slightly different flavor than the front part. The stores are along the same line and visitors and students are everywhere. All of Harvard Square is not that hard to negotiate. If you like street photography, that is another reason to walk through here.

The shops in Brattle Square offer something for everyone. Shoes, books, paper, clothes, snacks, eye wear, and a thrift shop. Wonderful place to browse.

I highly recommend Brattle Square florist most of all. They have fresh and quality flowers for a very reasonable price, as well as plants. You can create your own bouquet and the flowers are fresher than other florists that are given high praise in town. In my view, they are the best in Cambridge. Also, the Brattle Square Theater is great fun and the local for the Boston Society of Film Critics Award in February of each year.

This is a Harvard icon that fits well into the whole Harvard experience. Interesting shops and restaurants abound in this area.

There are shops & restaurants in Brattle Square, but there are also For Lease signs ~ it seems to be losing the Mom-&-Pop shops.
I took note of the 100-year old family-owned Brattle Street Florist. They also carry beautiful plants & succulents, & go out of their way to fulfill a Bride's wishes:: Peonies, for example.
In the 1980s Brattle Square was reconfigured to make a permanent outdoor performance space where bands play all genres of music on weekends.
The Brattle Theatre, a repertory movie theater located at 40 Brattle Street (Brattle Hall), caught my interest, but nothing was playing during my stay. It has quite the salty history. The theatre is a small movie house with one screen. It is one of the few remaining movie theaters, if not the only one, that use a rear-projection system; the projector is located behind the screen ratherF than behind the audience.

No one comes to cambridge without seeing Harvard Sq. Brattle Sq is right near the heart of the Sq. Too many chain stores have overtaken the smaller, locally-owner ones --- but there are a few of those. Still. Check out Bill Slater Stationary, Curious George Book Store (they have a lot of toys, also), Black Ink. And of course the COOP. Bucksters. Too many homeless folks, many of them young.
Also Club Passim is a MUST for any folkies out there. It launched many great careers in music and you can catch a show and have a meal. It's the real thing. (OK two blocks from Brattle Sq.)

Lots of shops, quaint and franchise, little eats and big restaruants, and lots of people. A great place to watch and shop. Especially the Brattle Flower Shop - pots full of fresh flowers at a reasonable price. My favorite place to buy flowers.

To Cantabridgeans ( the Cambridge residents to the rest of you) this is the center of the world. Relax ! It's nothing earthshaking. But it is ! When you're there you can walk around, visit HARVARD, shop, walk along the Charles, stay for an early (famous vintage) movie at the Brattle theater, walk around the Common and visit Washington's exploits, so there !
