The castle in Bracciano, Italy - a stone's throw from Rome - was completed in 1485 by the Orsini family and is one of the few renaissance castles in Italy that - thanks to the Odescalchi family - is open to the public. It also plays host to numerous weddings, galas and important cultural events throughout the year.

We toured the Castle di Bracciano on our way from Civiteveccheia where we disembarked from our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so interesting to see the ancient walls and furnishings displayed in the castle. My husband's favorite part was the display of the ancient weapons up to more modern guns. There was a plaque in each room describing... More

I have no words to describe the city ! It's just amazing, the castle has an interesting story and the city is like a piece of haven ! I love the place ! I've been visiting it since I was 17 so for almost 6 years, in summer, in spring, in winter and in autumn and I will return with... More

While visiting Rome, we decided to get out of the hustle & bustle of the more frequented tourist attractions & headed to countryside. One of our first stops was the Castello di Bracciano. We did our own walk through the castle using the self-tour guide, which was very detailed & helped us navigate the castle at our own pace. I... More

Informative tour in English that exceeded our expectations. The castle itself and the history is interesting. The tour takes about 1:15 and is included in the €8.50 admission fee. Call in advance for hours of the English tours.

We are staying in Bracciano and thought it would be good to visit the castle. It was an easy and pleasant tour with a laid out route around the castle. The ceilings are great to look at and the views of the lake are wonderful. Quite interesting. Entrance cost per adult is €8.50

Great castle. Very easy to tour. We had a brilliant guide who spoke Fluent in English and very interesting. Explore the town, great small bars and lots of great food delivered from small independent outlets.

Took our children here and weren't expecting them to enjoy it as much as they did! Good value for money and there was lots to see and do. The story of Isabella Medici was fascinating and got everyone talking! Not suitable for a pushchair as lots of steps but well worth a visit.

Visited the castle in the early afternoon and although they said you needed to be part of guided tour to visit the castle, a lot of people walked through it on their own. There are descriptions in all the rooms in Italian and English so you can do a lot on your own. We did catch up with one of... More

This is the main attraction in Bracciano. It is on the top of the hill. Once you reach it you will be amazed by the scenery. To be able to go inside the castello you need to purchase a ticket and you will find arrows that guide you all t he way along with a description for every room. Do... More
