This waterfall is truly something special! The pure size of the waterfall itself is astonishing! We went during winter and the steps towards the bottom were all covered in ice which was pretty dangerous. Also, there was just so many people which I found took...More

Truly a beautiful sight to see in Iceland's countryside. Amazing to actually see in person. If you travel in winter time, do be careful as it's very icy near the base of the waterfall but totally worth the effort to get some amazing shots.

We drove along 1S to find this waterfall, about 2 hours from Reykjavik. It is spectacular! We hiked to the top and took pictures of the smaller falls but the stream and nearby mountain make it particularly impressive. The hike up to the top is...More

Another beautiful water fall. A moderate hike (walkway) to the top view point and beyond. Great views of the fall s and surrounding mountains and valleys - even on an overcast day.

Hi yes there's a couple of restaurants and restrooms on site very close to the falls. Hope this helps. Try Seljalandfoss falls about 20km from here it's amazing you can walk behind the falls here.
