Unfortunately when we visited, the weather was awful - cold, wind and rain, but we were still able to appreciate the power of the falls as they crash into the stony riverbed. The falls themselves create a huge amount of spray that take your breath away when up close. We did not climb the stairs because of the weather, but... More

We spent almost no time at all at the base of the fall; we immediately climbed the stairs to the top (it's definitely steep; we were both a bit winded on the way up!). At the top, besides a few awesome photo ops on the way, there is a small ladder over the fence; we went over and ended up... More

Our visit to Skogafoss was short but beautiful. It was a very cold, rainy and windy day in December so we were dressed for the harsh elements. We walked up along the river to the roaring thunder of the waterfall. It was quite icy so we did not brave the hundreds of steps to the top. Nonetheless, it was beautiful... More

Such a magnificent wonder - wonderful waterfall. You can see it from afar, but when you walk closer, the feeling is just awesome! Make sure that you are well attired, it can get really cold due to the cold icy waterfall. Stay safe, just dont know when you get too excited.

A beautiful waterfall with easy access to the bottom of it. You can climb up to the top for great views as well! We were lucky enough to get clear and sunny weather. The views form the top are also amazing!

We have been to this waterfall on three separate occasions. It is an awesome sight and well worth the visit. There is a car park abut 200 metres from the falls and a cafe/restaurant nearby. You can walk along the river bank and choose your spot for the best views/photographs. There is also a stairway that goes up to a... More

This was absolutely gorgeous! You can see it from the main road but heading closer towards it, it was even more breathtaking. My friend and I were fortunate enough to snap pics of rainbows with it :)

Waterwall is about 60 meters high, there is a starcase next to it so it takes up to 5 to 10 min walk up. A bit of exercise, but the view is worth it. If a sunny clear day you can see very far from there. The waterfall itself is quite a big attraction, don't miss out on this.

This waterfall is the tallest in Iceland. It is near the town of Vik, perhaps a 1.5 hour drive. It is easily accessible. As you drive in, the hillside looks like a troll, fun for kids and adults! There are steps you can climb, there was a lot, it was exhausting especially post glacier hike! The view from the top... More

Rented a car and drove from Keflavik to Skogafoss. Left 1,5h before sunrise (approximately 5h daytime in winter). The Waterfall is easily reachable in any weather condition. It's a nice trip. Nice scenery. In the Summer you could make it a long trip stopping at more Waterfalls. Near Selfoss you could consider visiting the Bobby Fischer Center if you are... More
