I have been here 3 times (March 2019, Jan 2020 and August 2020) and want to go back again! Sure it’s not the cheapest place but in my opinion it’s a must! One of the trips I booked it before the trip home so they picked us up and took us right to the airport. A wonderful end to a holiday, just give yourself enough time to enjoy a few hours there. We didn’t feel rushed. I’ve been twice with my partner and once with my 2 daughters who were 21 and 11 years and all enjoyed it. My youngest didn’t think she would but said it was the best part of the trip! My advice would be to take a waterproof camera in or a phone in a water case so you can capture some shots, (but that’s me, I never get tired of taking photos) also food very expensive but very nice, I’d say treat yourself! You don’t do it every day!

I made a stop at Blue Lagoon to get my body to acclimate to the time difference between the US and Iceland and was happy with that decision. After about an hour of sleep I jumped on a bus, got taken out to the Blue Lagoon, and spent the next three hours wading through the warm waters with mud on my face. I had a ticket for lunch and took a quick break before going back in for another hour and heading back to Reykjavik.

I actually visited back at the end of January 2020 just before the start of the pandemic and with all the drama of Covid, I never actually got round to posting a review. This is my favourite place in Iceland! It was really easy to book and we visited as part of a tour which included some other sights. I was worried after hearing stories of communal showers etc. however it was no different from visiting your local swimming baths in that regard. We each got a band for our lockers, there were changing cubical available as well as individual showers. We must get showered before going into the water and also put conditioner on your hair to protect it from the salt. We received a complimentary mud face mask and also a free glass of prosecco each. It was absolutely incredible to relax in the hot springs as the snow fell down on us. The only downside was that our tour only allocated 2 hours so the next time I return to Iceland, I will definitely make a solo visit here as it is incredible!

Had such a great time here, was very surreal relaxing in the warm water with a mud face mask and a cool drink amongst the snowy mountains of Iceland. The whole visit was very well organised and great fun
