If you are a Lincoln specialist, this is a must see. The Noel’s Have painstakingly restore this valuable landmark. This is where Lincoln left from Springfield to go to Washington. Not a long stop but worth the 1/2 hour to see.

My sister and I went to visit this site because it is where Lincoln’s last, and very emotional speech, was made in Springfield on the back of the train headed to Washington DC. We appreciated the restoration efforts, photos and short film. It is a...More

It's beyond expectations for what it is. A lawyer history buff purchased this original train depot, remodeled half for his offices and restored the rest as a train station/history display. The space is only open during office hours, but it is completely separate and entered...More

If you are in the area, stop in for ten minutes to poke around. There isn't much to see, but currently there is an exhibit from Spielberg's movie about Lincoln.

The old, but fully restored depot, features exhibits from Steven Spielberg's film "Lincoln", starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln. You can see the actual costumes and some sets used in the production. It was a unique exhibition, but ends in October 2018 I believe.

We saw the Lincoln in the Movies exhibit which was small in scale but interesting. The video presentation gave more information behind the scenes.

I'd highly recommend a quick stop at the Great Western Depot, as this is the location Lincoln delivered his farewell speech when he left for Washington DC. It was also the last time he gave a speech in Springfield as he never again returned to...More

This Depot is now privately owned, beautifully restored, and well maintained. The owners have done a great job and the lower level is worth seeing. There are several displays worth your time but only plan on 1/2 hour.

This is the depot from which Lincoln departed for the White House. There is a short film and a few exhibits.
