Tours of the Governor’s Mansion are limited to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and only a couple of tour times each day. We were unable to tour the mansion due to our time schedule. The grounds around the mansion in early May with all the spring...More

Very, very close to the capitol complex, the building is overshadowed by the newly budding spring flowers. It is hard to imagine why a governor would not want to stay here and be part of history, though it seems like the last couple of Illinois...More

Great public space and architecture, the staircase is really grand. The garden could be but it has as many advertisements as it does plants, and they're ugly. Reminded me of visits to cities in India. The facilities are in dire need of maintenance which makes...More

While it sits in the center of town, I'd say most just drive by and admire the gardens. Tours are short and not particularly interesting. Tour is limited in how much of the mansion you actually get to view.

The mansion isn't always open. There were very few guests during January. It is a very interesting building. I would love to see the gardens in Spring.

I've been here for functions and as a random visitor with friends from out of town. Best feature: the gardens.

Mansion, when open, isn't really that great of a place to visit. Grounds look like a jungle as they are normally overgrown and unkempt. Interior of the building is for the most part in need of major work.

A very historic building, with old fashion furniture. We went there as part of a function and its well preserved and pretty. The grounds are well kept and if you come to Springfield I would recommend a visit

If you get the chance to tour this home, do it! It is well worth taking time to visit one of the oldest Governor's Mansion's in the United States. Expecially during the holiday season.
