We stopped for a quick visit and discovered that the public can only get in on certain days/times. We were disappointed, but we did get some good pics through the gates. The mansion covers a full city block and we walked all the way around...More

What a hideous shame that the corrupt government of Illinois allows the filthy rich Governor to live in Chicago while our tax dollars go into a run down shell of this beautiful mansion!!!!!!

There is so much history on display! From the dishes in the formal dining area, to the unique "what-nots" with so much symbolism. Truely a great experience, great meeting the Governor.

This building needs to be turned into a museum or sold to generate dollars for a worthy cause. What a waste of tax dollars for a cash short state!

Could only visit for an hour and a half on specific days. On complete lockdown, building beautiful grounds kept up. Can't say much we couldn't get in what a shame.

It was a very interesting location by tour but I'm not really a huge fan of political locations even if it was rather charming. Good for those that enjoy pieces of history tied together with political figures.
