Stopped here briefly - on our way to Grand Canyon. Not too far off the road, and you can stop short or long, if you want it.

We went to see Hoover Dam on a very hot day but it was worth every minute. Go early to avoid the lines and crowds! The tour is definitely neat but even without it, if you just drive in to see the massive structure, it's...More

very impressive but everything cost - the parking and even the entrance to the visitor center! We just hiked around - seem to be enough.

It is about 30 minutes drive from Las Vegas, and quite popular among the foreign travllers. The construction is amazing and Lake Mead is fabulously beautiful.

The tour is very interesting ($15 per adult), and cool (a welcome respite from the outside temperatures). The dam itself is an engineering marvel

I am not familiar with this company, however, I think the round-trip tour time allowed should be 5-6 hours. There are very decent and clean washroom facilities onsite and some basic food/snack capabilities. It's a very... More

Hi Christine, I think it depends on how much you want to read, photograph and stand and listen to the recorded commentary coming from the overhang on the dam. I would suggest you allow 1 hour. There is also a gift shop... More

No. Hoover Dam is well beyond the RTC service region. Sam is right: a rental car from McCarren Airport is the cheapest way to see Hoover, Boulder City, etc.
