Great views. Very worth the hike. It is a pretty constant and incline though so be prepared to walk up, a lot. Then down, a lot :) You will definitely feel accomplished and some beautiful photos when you're finished!

I discovered this hike last summer, and I love it! It's a tough uphill, but no loose rock or anything that would require you to feel unsafe. Bring plenty of snacks and water, and plan to go beyond the second bench. You can continue to Twin Peaks, or Pepper Peak. The view of Eklutna lake is absolutely breathtaking. Add this... More

It could have been the beautiful sunny 65 degree day or the fact that I was in a great mood, but this was my favorite of the 5 hikes that my husband and I went on during our trip to Alaska. We did this trail the next day after doing the flattop hike in Anchorage. If I were to chose one then I would recommend the flattop hike. This would come number 2. One of the most beautiful mountain peaks in Palmer, Alaska, this hike offers views of the peaks from the south face which is accessed from Eklutna Lake Road.
