Went there in D-day, it’s always a special place when you’re interested in WWII, this was my third visit here on D-day. Don’t miss the church, the town square. There’s always a big market place to sell/ buying WWII memorabilia on the days of day.

Other than the D-Day connection, there's not a lot to this small town. It's mostly a nice town square in an old Normandy town. Nothing special, but it’s large for a town this size. The church is the center of the D-Day story. If you...More

Lovely setting with great bike riding possibilities. You have to see the hanging parachutist of course. Not much else to attract unless your grandad dropped here with the 101 Airborne.

The city is well known from World War 2, and they still celebrate the liberation very much. Foreigners are feeling very welcome in the city.

We only had a limited amount of time to spend here but we will definitely come back to spend a day. It’s very atmospheric and as it was the day after D-Day, there were soldiers walking around as well as people dressed in costume. There...More

“Cute little town” can describe so many places in the French countryside. This one has notoriety because of an event in World War II and it became the home of the Air Force museum. Regardless, it has all the mementos of a small town and...More

The town of Sainte Mere Eglise is very charming as those in Normandy are. Lots of places to visit and shop at, eat at or just wander and soak it all in.

Growing up watching classics like the Longest Day and reading books about D-Day San Mer Eglise has been on my list of must visits. It didn't disappoint. We happened to arrive mid-morning on market day (Thursday) so we had many options for local fare. The...More
