I'm not sure why but with lines at Fauntleroy to Southworth ferry is so long one needs to be at the ferry area at least an hour before it leaves to be on it. though there 1/2 hour early we missed it by 4 cars,...More

Wow, what a great way to get out on the ocean at a fair price for families. Our 12 yr old son was only $4, adults $8 for a round trip (35min) ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. We didn't have time today to explore the...More

The ferry ride was as expected for a ferry ride. Easy process of getting a ticket, waiting 20 minutes to board, and 30ish minute ride to Bainbridge Island. Ride back was just as easy. Large boat, a variety of food for sale, a bit expensive...More

We took the Ferry across to Bainbridge so we could drive all over the Olympic Peninsula then took the Edmonds-Kingston ferry back to Edmonds. There was a waiting line at each terminal, but the ferry took more cars than we thought it would. The coffee...More

We did the trip to Bremerton. Travelled off peak so no crowds. Glorious weather gave us beautiful views as we travelled over. Fares were about $8 each return - that is real value. A great opportunity to sight see but at a more genteel pace....More

There is no better place to see the Seattle skyline than from the Bainbridge or Bremerton ferries that transit the Puget Sound multiple times daily to/from the Ferry Terminal at the base of Alaska Way. You can walk on, ride a bicycle on, or drive...More

We rode from Bainbridge to Seattle. Missed the launch by about 5-10 minutes so we were nearly first in line and waited 40 minutes to next boat. But being in front was good as we were then first off in Seattle. Otherwise it's a cool...More

I don't know about the summer. There are several ferries in the system. Crossing over, I had virtually no wait time. However, on the way back, it was not as smooth. The wait time was over an hour, and this was mid May.

What's the most scenic route/most likely to encounter wildlife? I'd like to experience the "local" transport, rather than go on a cruise.
