We rode the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle. From Tacoma, avoided the 5 freeway, by going up the peninsula to Bremerton and then ferried across.It is about a 50 minute ride and relaxing and comfortable,

We took one of these giant ferries to Bainbridge. It was awesome, I realize its a commuter ferry, but on the weekends, it snot very crowded...Bainbridge had a cute little museum and breakfast spot walking distance off the ferry. Loved it.

You can purchase tickets at the terminal. The first ferry that leaves from Seattle to Bainbridge is at 5:30am during the week. Download the app FerryFriend for the Washington ferry schedule.
