- Dimitris LSydney, Australia50,924 contributionsDelightful little parkWe were fortunate to stumble across this beautiful park in Pioneer Square purely by chance. Waterfall Garden Park, a private park, was created in 1978. The site is the original United Parcel Service building. The park was designed by Masao Kinoshita. It has been described as "one of the most expensive parks per square foot ever built in the United States", probably because of its small size and the huge volume of water used in the waterfall. Apart from the waterfall, the small park has a Japanese garden with some wonderful plants as well as chairs and tables.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 November 2023
- jodye62522 contributionsSerene viewBeautiful little waterfall in an unexpected place. The people who live in the area must enjoy the option to be able to sit down and enjoy their lunch in solitude. I would recommend that people of all ages take a minute to check it out if nearby.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 8 June 2024
- RD559070 contributionsSeattle WeirdThis is just around the corner from McCoy's Firehouse bar and grill on Second Street in the Pioneer area. Its a really nice waterfall park and a great place to sit and take a break. BUT, you are forbidden to take photographs! Security guard on the site. VERY WEIRD! There are a fair number of 'homeless' obviously mentally challenged people on the street. Some businesses keep their doors locked and you have to knock to get in.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 August 2024

The Waterfall park in the Seattle is a must visit if you’re near Pioneer Square. It’s easy to find and somewhat unexpected considering where you are

If you're in the area, this park is truly so, so wonderful and peaceful. I had just visited a museum and went on a tour of the underground, but I popped in here for about 20 minutes afterwards. It really is a serene, lovely place within such a busy, often times, harsh urban environment. Whether you're a local or visitor, stop by here and read a book, sit and reflect, and just enjoy! It's worth it! If you liked this review, I'd like if you clicked the helpful button below! Thanks! <3

First, let me say this park is quite small. Some people have been disappointed by this. Second, people have said that the neighborhood the park is in is 'sketchy'. I didn't see this when I visited. The park is actually quite close to several attractions including the Underground Tour, the Smith Tower and Occidental park. It was a little hard to find the park because it is small and it is enclosed by metals bars and a gate.
I liked the park. The small falls are man made but pretty none the less. There is nice foliage all around the falls and nice places to sit if the day is clear. I only spent a few minutes at the park but I thought it was worth the effort to find it and walk to it. It is free. So take a walk, take a lunch, take a few photos and enjoy this hidden gem.

It’s a little hidden area near Occidental Square and not particularly much to it, but we enjoyed it. My 18 month old has a fascination with quick moving water (falls, creeks, rivers, etc) so I thought we should check this out. We walked from Pike’s Market which took a while but it was worth it. He really enjoyed it. It’s a nice peaceful little spot in the city. We hung out for maybe 20 minutes, checked out the different water features, and took some pictures. Worth the time.

I have a different meaning of the words waterfall and garden. We walked to the location where it was suppose to be located and could not find it. A sightseeing guide came by and told us it was across the street. When we got there it was a waterfall and garden area however.......it was located inside a building and the waterfall was man made not natural. It could have been peaceful but of course there were homeless people inside laying on the rocks smoking pot. Not worth finding or seeing....... There were so many homeless people in the area you could not take a photo without having them in it. This was my second time to Seattle...and thou the city is beautiful the homeless and pot smokers have taken over. It was very sad to see how many young people were on the streets that had not bathed in a long time. Guess this is what happens when you legalize Marijuana. Very sad!

This was labelled 'Waterfall National Park' on our tourist map. If a 15x15 yard concrete pad with potted plants and a roof is considered a national park, I have serious reservations about the cartographic accuracy.
The only redeeming feature of this artificial monstrosity is that the deafening roar of gallons of duck-poo laden filth cascading down the artifical falls drowns out the sound of the beggers at each entrance (and also your partner attempting to ask whether it's time to leave).
The cigarette smoke lingering inside from the butts of a thousand tourists walking through only adds to the 'natural charm' of this downtown gem.
Highly recommended (that you go elsewhere).

When I saw the photos and the reviews for this place I was completely excited. My partner and I walked to the historic section to look and around and find this "beautiful" and "relaxing oasis". First this is a tiny little caged area where a little stream of water is displayed, second this is located where all the homeless people are, they are not afraid to come up to you, so no I was not very relaxed. I was NOT impressed, and cannot believe this ranks so high on the list when there are so many actual beautiful things to experience in the city.

No. It's just a tiny little pocket park near Pioneer Square.

I believe it is only open Monday to Friday during the day. It is worth a visit, take a coffee or a picnic and sit and enjoy!

What is the parking like here? Will along bed, quad cab pickup truck be able to park?
Written 23 July 2015
I doubt you will find street parking easily - for any size vehicle. Seattle is very congested and we ended up always having to park in a parking garage. If you are an early riser, you can get a better price in some garages if you are in by 9 a.m. Good luck!
