There are so many interesting details in this building from the carved wooden floors (carved with words of course!) to the spiralling of the bookcases from one floor to the next and the interesting views from the 10th floor reading room. Wifi and free entrance, it was one of the most interesting buildings we visited in Seattle.

If you happen to be visiting Seattle (for whatever reason) and have yet to visit the Main Library building--please do! It's worth knowing about and impressive to experience. If you are a resident of Seattle, I bet you already know that the Seattle Public Library provides excellent public library services throughout the city: you have a right to be very... More

The architecture is quite eye catching from the inside and the outside. We really just looked around but it looks like a fantastic resource for any library user with current technology available even for visitors.

This is very very cool. Head up to the 10th floor to see all the preserved books about the city. My girlfriend and I swung by here on our Seattle "staycation." Very cool! Worth seeing even if it is just for a few minutes. Highly recommend checking out each floor to see how differently they are designed.

Tourists should include the library on their next trip to Seattle. In this city, we don't have much interesting architecture, but this building is an exception, designed by a famous Dutch architect. You can just drive by, if you don't have time. The inside is interesting also; see if you can check out one of their meeting rooms and rest... More

Just a phenomenal piece of construction. It's too cool to be just a library--it's definitely worth visiting as a work of art.

As can be seen from the accompanying photos, the architecture is distinctive and striking. While you'll not likely spend hours looking at it, it's worth walking by it and taking a few pictures.

One of the coolest libraries that I have ever visited. Definitely pop in if you are in the area! It seems to be a happening place as there were a ton of people there on a Friday evening.

Even if you're just visiting Seattle and seeing sites like the Pike Street Market and the Space Needle, a short side trip to the downtown library on both 4th and 5th Avenues and Madison Street will be worth your while. It is an architectural marvel, and be sure to go to the top floor for the view of the city... More
