The library is HUGE. 10th floor has a nice view of the library from the top. If you're afraid of heights, probably shouldn't go up there. The building itself is beautiful, so I would recommend visiting any time.

We visited the library to use the Internet and loved the unusual decor and structure. The staff was friendly--even making sure I kept my coffee! Only in Seattle can you visit the library while drinking coffee.

My daughter recently moved to Seattle and brought me in here to look around. Amazing architecture. You can also find anything and get public transportation information.

The central library, designed by Rem Koolhaus, is one of the relatively small number of architecturally distinguished buildings in Seattle, in my opinion. Very interesting place to visit and explore, both inside and out. Great 'mixing' spaces and winding up and down the six stories...More

Very unique library with an amazing map room that we spent most of our time in while it poured outside.

If you're at all interested in libraries or architecture, this is a must see. Go up to one of the higher floors and check out the spiraling stacks with the Dewey decimal in the floor tiles. You can also stop by the gift shop or...More

There's actually parking in the building, but I suspect it is quite pricey. In general, you'll manage downtown Seattle better without a car. There is pretty decent bus service. And you can walk. It's a relatively... More
