While visiting friends living in the university district of Seattle we ventured into Ravenna Park for an afternoon walk with our kids. This large outdoor natural park had well maintained paths and was beautiful.

Nice and easy walking trails. Well maintained park. My husband even did some geo caching! The length from end to end is about a mile. We walked about 2 miles and it was relaxing. We saw joggers, walkers, and cyclists in the main trails. Lots of little side trails we didn't explore. Great gem in the city.

I grew up near this large, wooded park in the University of Washington area... just north of the campus. It starts out on the south end with a playground and tennis courts, a baseball diamond and groomed field. It quickly changes to a wooded area to walk through...and is frankly a little spooky. Case in point...see the comic book Black... More

This is a gorgeous and unspoiled park smack in one of the fave neighborhoods of Seattle. Great for walking about and if you have a dog, it will be a happy place!

For 41 years, I have loved this park. A round trip walk is but 1/2 mile, through a cool and quiet ravine that could not be developed. Green forests and a recently day-lighted stream add to its attraction.

Remnant of the natural outlet of Green Lake into Lake Washington. Both of these lakes were larger before modern development. Green Lake is now surrounded by a park but has had its natural sources cutoff. The very large trees that once were along the stream are long gone.

This is a quiet walk in a ravine that starts about NE 12th at about NE 62nd North of the University District and University of Washington. It meanders downhill along a small creek below neighborhoods on the ridge above. An easy trail with some elevation coming back up on a very good path. Best during the day. You can take... More

This is a very nice park that feels almost hidden from view. There is really a sense of walking down into the park from the neighborhoods up "above" it. It is definitely worth visiting.

Had a nightmare finding this park from the I-5 because the road wound up and down hills and around corners and sometimes street signs were hard to see; missed finding the small parking lot, so parked on the street (where it is hard to find a parking place); that being said, the park is beautiful, with steps down to a... Closest to being out in nature while still in the city. This is a small park but pretty densely forested with a lot of vegetation. It's just north of Udub (University of Washington) and east of Green Lake so not too far to travel to visit.
