We happened to be walking towards the underground walking tour in downtown and came across this book shop. The selection of crime fiction and mysteries is unbelievable! Literally anything you could want. The owners were there, and they were so knowledgeable and friendly. They helped my sister find some books she'd been looking for and answered all of her questions.... More

We are mystery buffs and this is one great bookstore. We always make a point of stopping here when we are in Seattle. They have a huge selection of mystery books and an excellent selection of local authors. The staff are helpful, VERY knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to buy, browse or just kill time.

This bookstore was half-way up a Seattle hill and we stopped in to get a rest and see what selections they had. They specialize in mysteries. But they had other books, too, as well as a section of sale books. I checked and they had my favorite mystery authors. Had a delightful conversation with the sole sales clerk about local... More

Seattle Mystery Bookshop was a place I always visited when in Pioneer Square. The employees are extremely well-read and very knowledgable regarding mystery, science fiction and thrillers. While they have downsized somewhat, the shop is still full of weed-loved books. I miss this place as I could always find a book I wanted whether I knew it or not! But... More

This shop is a must for passionate mystery lovers, such as myself. Set below street level in quaint quarters, it caters to the true mystery buff carrying every genre from crime classics to hard boiled detective, to light cozies, and so much more. The personnel are well versed in their inventory and will happily talk with you about their favorite... More

They know their mystery writers well. We have been going there for more than 20 years and they are most helpful and informative. We would not go back otherwise. We buy books every time we are in town. We want them to survive. They also have a newsletter which is first rate. Check them out.

This came up on my Trip Advisor, plus i was intrigued. Literally across the street from my hotel. I went inside to look around. This is a small store, however do not let the size fool you. They have a ton of GREAT novels as well as a HUGE collection of Signed books. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This was probably the best part of our trip to Seattle. Found this gem walking around Pioneer Square after the underground tour. The two ladies working there spent a good half hour talking to me & my girlfriend to find out what books we liked before making recommendations to us. The employees' passion for books was contagious. We are really... More
