We started at the Dahlia Gardens in Volunteer Park - AMAZING! The flowers were in full bloom in almost every color imaginable - pinks, oranges, whites, reds, mini, small, large. etc. Then we dragged ourselves to the Conservatory. I was surprised that there was so...More

My bf is a plant-lover, so thought I'd surprise him with a trip here. For $4 at an electronic kiosk by the door, you can spend time looking at all of the gorgeous plants and flowers. Wonderful for a cheap-but-romantic date.

Really a nice way to warm up and view all the beautiful succulents and tropical plants, especially on a cold, rainy day. Even though it's a pubic park, there's a $4 price for admission. That may deter some, but if you've got nothing better to...More

It's a great park with Watertower, greenhouse, and access to beautiful cemetery grounds where Bruce Lee was buried. It's one of my favorite parks to bring a blanket to and read or just sit at the base of the Asian Art Museum art deco building.

Loved seeing all the tropical flowers especially when cold and grey outside. Nice little gift shop with very helpful employees who are not intrusive.

This was a lovely place to visit on a rainy winter day. The conservatory isn't as large as many others I've visited, such as those in DC and Longwood gardens, but the displays are interesting and attractive. The $4 fee is collected at an electronic...More

I love orchids, and they are thriving here in a wonderful setting! There are also lots of interesting ferns, banana trees, and other plants to set them off. The setting in Volunteer Park is also amazing, and I would highly recommend spending an afternoon here...More

We visit the Park every time we come and when it rains we spend lots of our time in the conservatory. It never fails to engage us.

There's a great cafe cafe near the park called "The Volunteer Park Cafe". Cheap, friendly and delish.
