Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was money well spent… especially considering the prices of other attractions in Seattle. Our guide was easy to understand, knowledgeable and humorous. (Seattle is a VERY expensive city… even more so than San Francisco!)
Unfortunately, the girl manning (sorry for the oxymoron) the ticket booth sent us to their competition when she saw our tickets. (Staff may need a wakeup call?) We were sent back.
Be aware that the surroundings during this tour (which was about 1 hour, 20 minutes) are enclosed and damp. If you suffer from claustrophobia or respiratory issues, this may be an issue.

I had no idea what to expect going in but I had a great time on Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour. Jim was a fantastic guide and provided a very welcome mix of humor and history. The tour was very cheap and I’d recommend anyone with a mid-afternoon lull to make their way over to Pioneer Square for the tour.

Spotted in passing and signed up on a bit of a whim as not usually a fan of organised tours. This was fascinating and fun - incredibly glad we took that chance and followed the whim! Our guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and also cleverly witty in how she shared the wealth of information about Seattle's history that the tour included. I can't honestly recall how long it took as it was so enjoyable that the time just flowed. Lisa's stories were tailored to suit all ages (and we had a wide range on our tour) and she created a great atmosphere of the past. Lisa also set up a really good sense of group cohesion, encouraging us to talk to others on the tour. If you don't take the tour you'll be missing out!!

This is an interesting tour, mostly because of the information you will hear and the way the information is delivered. Our guide was very informative and told a great story of the history of Seattle and how the underground came to be, and it was funny. So the story was great, the guide was great, and this was a great way to tell a story.
The underground parts themselves are not what I expected them to be. You really have to use your imagination and the information the guide is giving you to see that you are under the streets at what was once the street level. Without signage and a guide, it would look like a basement. I guess I wish that either this underground had been better preserved or that it wasn't all in the hands of private owners who can do what they like with it and allow or not allow tours. But it's good it's being preserved now because it is a really cool piece of Seattle history and I did learn a lot.

Hilarious, informational, and a very fun way to spend 90 minutes in Seattle! The tour guide was so funny and knowledgeable. I had no idea about the underground before this tour. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more about the city and participate in an entertaining tour.

Best thing to do in Seattle, I'd say. Massively enjoyed this, our guide (Lisa I think but apologies if I misheard her name) was enthusiastic but with a real dry wit and absolutely great at not only knowing and retelling the history of Seattle as a city but also carefully checking on members of the group who either had little kids (and might be scared of the dark more) or who didn't speak English as a first language and checking subtly they seemed to be understanding her (they did - she was very clear).
Loved the back story to why the skylights are purple and why Seattle after the big fire was so hard to rebuild. Thank you!

This was a fun annd very informative tour of Seattle underground. Amazing to see what once was here, all the missteps and mistakes that had been made, and that the city continued to thrive. Our tour guide, Andie , kept it light and kept it moving. She was able to make adult oriented references without offending any of the young kids on our tour. She was a real blast. I highly recommend this tour.

Fun tour with a very entertaining and informative guide. Why only four stars? The guy who was working the ticket desk when we bought our tickets was flat-out obnoxious. So much so that we almost went with the tour company next door. We ultimately made our choice based on price, but this guy was so off-putting that we thought about going with the more expensive tour as a statement.

Our tour guide Andie was very knowledgeable about Seattle’s colorful history! She effectively infused factual information with humor and kept the group engaged throughout the tour. The historical artifacts from various periods was very interesting. We would recommend this tour to other Seattle visitors!

A highlight of our Seattle trip. Jim was a great tour guide. A family brought their young children on the tour, which was a big mistake and they ended up bailing early. While all ages are welcomed, I would guess that most elementary school children and younger may struggle to be as enchanted with this tour as older children and adults are.

I believe you can. Pretty sure we had one with us in December for water bottles.

Is this suitable for people with mobility issues? My 84 year old mother would really like to go. She walks with a cane due to knee issues.
Thank you.

There is a lot of walking, stairs, and uneven ground in the tunnels, however, Lisa, our tour guide was awesome about making sure everyone had enough time to keep up and was patient with some older participants. It is worth it if she can bear it!

Hi. In light of the current global situation, is it possible to get our tickets refunded? We are booked for June 29 but obviously won't be travelling from Australia any time soon. Thank you

I would hope so. Just give them a call and I hope they understand. Lots of establishments do refund.
Written 6 May 2020
Do they have a place we could store our luggage during the tour?
Written 6 December 2019
I don’t know but please contact them to ask.

I keep reading 6 flight of stairs. Is that 6 flights down and 6 flights up or 1 flight down and 1 up 3 times?
Written 24 November 2019
Just little flights of stairs here and there it’s not to bad
Written 17 January 2020
No, there is no place to sit, it is under ground so you have to go down and up stairs during the tour.
Written 18 January 2020
So where did you have to leave your stroller during the tour? Is there a secure place to leave them?
Written 14 July 2019
This is not a tour at which that young a child is manageable. Someone stay behind or get a babysitter or catch the tour another year.
