The sites are about 200m apart. This church is bare bones compared to others in France but it has enjoyed a long history. But you’ll have to do your own research. Only one scant sign in French and English outside. There is an impressive towering...More

This church is enormous in a small place, and unusual. It is not in perfect repair, but quite good. The painted walls of the chapels are beautiful. The inside of the dome is lovely - stunning carvings and a lovely metal railing along the inside...More

Built in the 1100’s Eglise Saint-Quiriace is an amazing structure considering the time period constructed. Plain inside, not as ornate as other churches of the time, it has its own beauty. The church provides a look into the history of the area and is worth...More

This is church that has a mixture of architectural styles. Built in 1160. I believe was visited by Joan of Arc. Ancient church, with very tall ceilings and an immense dome. Beautiful! Not too many details, but impressive for its height. A nice visit. Crowded...More

We like this small church in Provins. Partly because it is obviously a community church with an active congregation. Looks lopsided from the inside.

The church tower overlooks Provins, making it an easily identifiable spot. As nice as it is, seeing it from the distance, it is different when you get inside. Despite its big proportion and interesting architecture, it is in a very unattended state, with most of...More

Ive been to many church/cathedrals in europe. I really loved this one. So small and quant. With what seemed to be the original flooring which is now cracked and slightly uneven..careful as in some spots with one step you're stable and the next you're rocking...More

The imposing St Quiriace Church, along with Ceasar Tower, dominates the town. Reading the info inside was quite tragic - the medieval wall paintings inside had been white washed by a bishop and another bishop had allowed craftsmen to remove medieval wood pannelling and sell...More
