See the Davidson Glacier up close, from the vantage point of our 30-foot Voyager Canoes. The Glacier Point Wilderness Safari brings you into the Alaskan Wilderness and gives you a taste of the “True Alaska”.Your adventure begins at your cruise ship where we’ll board a high-speed vessel made for wildlife viewing en route to an Alaskan paradise. We’ll ply the waters of the deepest Fjord in North America with a naturalist guide, watching for whales, sea lions, porpoise, and many other species of marine wildlife. We land at Glacier Point and board our Safari Buses for a short drive over the terminal moraines. Our award-winning guides share with you the wonders of this Glacial Wilderness. A quarter mile hike will lead us to the iceberg-studded lake where we’ll paddle our canoes to the face of the glacier. This is an ideal family adventure and one you won’t soon forget!

So close to the glacier

Great experience in the early season - my wife and I made the trip with Alaska Shore Excursions. Not sure if you're able to be that close to a glacier again

1.5 boat ride with Connor and his deck mates who were informative and entertaining then meet your guides who escort you to a picnic then a brief bus ride through the forest to the canoes. You receive rubber boots and if needed rain gear for the canoe ride. Each canoe has about 8 guests and a guide. Hope all guests... More

We were taken by boat about 30 mins from Skagway, arrived to find some very enthusiastic guides,we were the first group of the season, upon arriving you get on a bus thru some nice forests, about 10 mins to the main area where you put on wet weather gear, then a short walk to the canoes, then into the canoes for a paddle to the... I'm amazed at the calf-ing and cracking of the glaciers each time I see them. Do not miss the opportunity to visit them while we have them.

Despite this being the only day it rained non stop on our 3 weeks in Canada/Alaska our trip was never to be forgotten.. The boat trip to Glacier point was well informed , our guides at the camp were very proficient and safety conscious ... The visit to the glacier made the trip in the canoes well worth the effort.... We weren't allowed near the Mendenhall Glacier on our cruise ship so we visited this one instead. All of the glaciers are melting at an extreme rate so they are hard to get to b/c of the chunks of icebergs in the canals. The area near Davidson Glacier happened to be the most passable area. We took an excursion from... More

We took a shore excursion to the Davidson Glacier through Holland America. We were picked up by a catamaran in Haines that took us to meet our guides, who fed us lunch before we boarded a small bus that drove us through the forest where we would begin our adventure. We were fitted with rubber boots and lifejackets before taking... More

This trip started with a 30 minute boat trip with informative narrative through a fine landscape to the outlet of the Davidson Glacier. Met by enthusiastic guides we were taken to the camp and fully kitted for the canoe trip. As the glacier hove in to view we couldn't take our eyes off of it and the surrounding area, which... More

Excursion was well organized. We had a number of excellent instructors. It was only 7 of us in a group. That advantage gave plenty space and time to reflect. It was a rainy and windy day. But it brought magical bright blue colors into everything. I was able to see waterfalls, trees, islands and birds trough the boat windows. At... More

This was the best. It's a chance to get out in the wilderness and the kids who take us up to the Glacier were great! Everybody loved it. We're in our 60's, there's a lot of walking but it's not elevated. We did fine.
