This is a very scenic ride with lots of information along the way. Tons of sites to take pictures as you rumble along the tracks listening to history about Alaska. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

The steam train gave me goose bumps as it chugged, clanked, and whistled into the station at Skagway. The cars are authentic, the scenery beautiful and the historical significance of the gold rush days made this trip exceptional. Go past the summit for some incredible...More

We knew to expect rain while in Alaska, but it really affects the enjoyment of this excursion. We saw little on the ride up and much less on the ride back. We were given the option to not go but since tickets were purchased months...More

This was one of our highlights on our Alaska trip/cruise. The tour guides provided commentary throughout the trip so we learned a lot about the area and the gold rush. The car was comfortable with a wood stove to keep it warm as the train...More

I love this train ride. My husband and I did this in 2000 and this year we brought our kids. Our bus driver was very informative and super friendly. Beautiful area and a lot of history. Take your passport because you will need it when...More

This experience is really impacted by where you sit. Most of the cars are bench seats (2 persons to a side), which is pretty uncomfortable. But the railway also offers 2 club cars for more exclusive seating for 12 with leather chairs that swivel, drinks,...More

We recently took this train ride. Even though it was raining the scenery was spectacular. We especially enjoyed standing outside of the coach.

We booked with Carnival and filled out the best price guarantee form. They then credited the difference to our room. The previous person said less crowded; however, there were plenty of open seats. I liked doing it through... More

We found the afternoon was better as the fog had lifted. Train was busy no matter what time you went. It depends on how many cruise ships are in port that day.
