With approximately 3000 feet elevation climb, it is a grueling hike at a slow pace. During the summer race one can't imagine how fast these athletes can go up and down the mountain.

I agree with the above. Rain usually goes with clouds and clouds can lead to a serious loss of visibility.

I am pretty sure it is not allowed, however, there are campsites in the area near the mountain. I also agree with the traveler from AZ , bears are dangerous! Bears have killed people even in trails commonly used. Caution is... More
