Absolutely gorgeous beach. Lots of sand and great waves for body surfing. I saw a turtle swimming by twice. There is also a food truck, definitely get a Hawaiian flavor shave ice with coconut cream topping! YOU WON'T REGRET!

This beach is extremely beautiful. We were told that this was a great beach but very busy. There were maybe 120 people there but the beach is very large so there was a ton of room for everyone. The beach and water were amazing. The...More

We wanted a beach that was similar to Makalawena, but a bit easier to access for our kids. This one did the trick! White sand, great surf. Occasionally the waves were powerful, but overall this was the perfect place for my 8 and 10 year...More

The water is beautifully clear. Great place to hang out and get in the water. The beach is completely sandy, no rocks in the water. There are bathrooms, outdoor showers, and a descent amount of parking.

This is an out-of-the-way beach and definitely worth the trip. It was stunning. We did not swim although there were many people on the beach and in the water.

We loved this beach - amazing views, blue water and white sand. We body surfed - and snorkeled - had lunch, beautiful day

Love this beach, water so blue and powdery white sand. One of our favorite beaches on the island. Plan to spend some time here and bring a sun shelter. If the water isn't too rough, good place to snorkle.

Very popular with the locals, so very crowded on the weekends. Not so bad during the week, parking spots are limited most of the parking is along the road so be prepared to walk. Definitely popular with the local younger crowd, maybe not the best...More

This gorgeous beach just north of Kona is fantastic for swimming, as it has beautiful white sand extending out a good ways into the ocean with a modest drop-off. The waves, though powerful, are not overwhelming -- great for body surfing.

Our favorite Big Island beach! Gorgeous, clean sandy beach, has restroom facilities, decent parking. We took snorkel gear from our hotel and wound up seeing a few sea turtles and a bunch of fish by the rocks.

There are no shops at the beach. There is toilets and showers but that is it. Not many beaches in Kona have vendors.

It's only about 13 miles north of the cruise port but the traffic is usually heavy - especially going back south towards the ships. Seems like there is always construction. Depending on the time of day I'd allow 25 minutes... More
