Bring the kids. This beach has it all. Boogie boarding. Snorkelling. Whale sounds underwater. Rocks. Sand. I'd come here every day if I could.

Beautiful spot and fairly small inside Kua Bay. Nice powdery tan sand everywhere. Parking is limited but you will see vehicles lining the drive even on weekdays. Lava rocks all over. A small bit of stepping on/over lava rock so at least bring shoes if...More

Loved this beach. Beautiful white sand, great waves for boogie boarding or body surfing. Stunning turquoise water. Busy but not overly crowded. No lifeguard but no big undertow and lots of shallow space for weaker swimmers. Also called Manini’owali Bay (Kua Bay). Watch for road...More

This is a beautiful Hawaii beach! Just be aware that there is quite a bit of climbing on lava rocks involved, could be a challenge for those with mobility issues. The water is clear & fun for boogie boarding. Love it!

People get wrecked all the time on this beach. The fair size waves can lul you to sleep and then BAM! A huge set comes out of nowhere 2 to 3 times the size you have seen for 10 minutes or more. People try to...More

Beautiful in every way but be very careful! The waves can be a lot stronger than you anticipated. Restroom and shower facilities available. If you get there later in the day you may have to walk a bit to get to the beach.

There are no shops at the beach. There is toilets and showers but that is it. Not many beaches in Kona have vendors.

It's only about 13 miles north of the cruise port but the traffic is usually heavy - especially going back south towards the ships. Seems like there is always construction. Depending on the time of day I'd allow 25 minutes... More
