Not sure how you rate a pier. Lots of boats, and on Wednesdays, cruise ship tenders. Is fun to hang around and see the people and boats. Couple of small beaches on each side. Very first time there many years ago, saw a caught sword...More

The views from here are awesome and so beautiful! There's a great bay right next to it and people snorkel there to see fish and more all the time.

Saw a ton of fish, people had seen manta rays. Need to swim off of beach behind King Kamehameha hotel and go to right to avoid boats. Was surgy that day and felt like it would have been safe to bring inexperienced snorkelers.

It's the pier in Kona where you get on/off boats. Not sure why we are even reviewing this. Most of the positive reviews are reviewing things that aren't part of the pier. As a pier its ok, but nothing exciting. Restroom is stinky. NO reason...More

The pier is a perfect place to center your Kona activities! We were able to take boat tours, swim and eat as well as shop and sightsee all from this location easily.

The pier sits out in Kailua Bay and appears designed for pick up and drop off of tour boats and other activities. It is quite functional but not an attractive pier. It is adjacent to the Marriott Courtyard and the small beach in front of...More

This was our first water stop our first day in Kona. My 9-year old loved the gentle water and the sand. There are ancient Hawaiian sacred site right next to it, which is park-like and nice to stroll or picnic at. The waves were rough...More

Lots & lots of shops & restaurants. Small beach where you can relax & have a little picnic. Our ship docked there and we just walked off the ship to the pier. Nice day to just explore without having to hike, bike, row, etc.!! Enjoyable...More

We went to the Pier to watch sunset and green flashes. That evening the sunset was gorgeous, but we have not seen any green flashes. It's difficult to find a parking space in that area, so be prepared to walk from your car to the...More

Robin C did an excellent job answering your question. Take a cab to Kahaluu'u Beach Park (aka Turtle Beach) which is SUPER snorkeling. There are vendors there for supplies and food and excellent water. Easy in and out if you... More
