As a beach it is not much- very small and waves that break very quickly But on the up side there is a lifeguard and a food trolley in the car park next door Should be said this is the closest beach to the Kona...More

As previously stated, the waves here can be huge and beat one up quickly if not in the right spot. It is fun to body surf or boogie for the more brave and experienced. It is even fun to watch the champs of the boogie...More

During high tides the beach disappears. Beautiful beach. The sand is soft. Great for swimming and snorkeling. There is a magic sand food truck park at the beach.

This is a great beach if you don't mind sharing. Lots of people! Clear water and enough waves for boomy boarding. Our favorite restaurant, Jameson's used to be here. Sadly it shut down.

The atmosphere here is full of fun. With a low depth and golden sand you can spend hours here. Enjoy the sea and sand and even people who cannot swim can venture into the ocean without fear at this beautiful beach. Recommended for all ages.

Magic Sands is a relatively smaller and more crowded beach than most on the Big Island - I would suggest visiting Hapuna or Kua Bay instead. Having said that, it is cool to watch the sand go out and leave, and it is conveniently close...More

I have not been in the ocean here. But several evenings my grandsons enjoyed body surfing and boogieboarding the waves. THe waves were quite rough a few days but still highlight for them being from Texas not much ocean near where they live.

Gorgeous sunny day on the beach. Has lifeguard that frequently reminded people about the surf since it was extremely high. Crowded with locals and tourists but lots of fun
