Magic Sands Beach is a smaller beach right off Ali'i Drive. (The "magic" is that the sand disappears in the winter and reappears in the spring). Not a whole lot of rocks in the surf area. Waves were large and very powerful the day I...More

This beach is convenient if you are staying in Kona. It is a nice beach but was quite congested in the afternoons on a couple of days we were there. Lots of boogie boards to dodge.

Good snorkeling with the turtles on the rocky side of the beach. Waves were pretty rough at times.Beach was crowded but the water was beautiful. Good swimming area. Worth it for the sea life if you are looking for a beach with easy access.

My granddaughters and I spent two fantastic beach days here. Our first good fortune was there was plenty of parking. The water was warm and with the overcast sky, I could sit comfortably on the beach in what sun there was. The waves were perfect...More
