Nice and convenient beach to downtown Kona but can get crowded quickly. Parking is on the road or down the street at a public lot.

This is a very small beach park with limited parking. Be sure to get there early if you want to park and get a nice place to lay on the beach, very popular place located very close to downtown Kona.

You need to be a good ocean & wave person for this beach. But if you respect the waves & the break this beach is wonderful. Crystal clear waters with a reef just off the beach. Local sea turtles seen everyday & lots of fish.

This was our first beach we went to and it was beautiful and sandy. But the next day the beach was gone and the only thing there was lava rock. Depending on weather the water will wash the sand away and leave rock. So hopefully...More

We parked for free in the lot across the street. We set up beach towels and prepared to enter the water. Nice sandy beach. But, it was high surf because of a hurricane north of the islands that stirred up the water viciously. What convinced...More

I went there at 9 this morning and the surfers were out in numbers due to the wave action. Very accessible Beach on Ali'i Drive.

Small, somewhat rocky beach. However, great place to see turtles and other fish. There are sheltered places to sit, but mostly people just sit on the beach. Fun to watch the surfers.

The beach is very nice, but small and I expect a lot of people in the main season. In off-season it was ok. There’s a small restaurant ant restrooms, the parking next to it and for free. There’s also a lifeguard watching over the people...More

We really enjoyed this beach. It's a good sized sandy beach with a lifeguard. The waves can get a little rough, but it's not huge surf. It's good for swimmers, and you don't have to worry about a lot of rocks. (Unlike most of the...More
