Often crowded in the season but a fun place to boogie board or swim but there is an undertow. I only swim here with fins.

Came to this beach late in the afternoon. Beach is small and as a result feels very crowded. But the waves were great for boogie boarding and despite a lot of people, we were able to catch waves and find a spot on the sand...More

Depending on the tide you have an excellent place for boogie boarding or getting smashed against the rock. I recommend the low tide. Chances of seeing turtles.

If you like big waves this is the beach to go to. No vanishing sands was a nice sandy beach, plenty of space to put up an umbrella and beach towels. Huge waves not a beach to turn your back on. A lot of fun...More

I love this beach! It has enough parking, nice restrooms, the showers have high water pressure (trust me you need it in order to get the sand out of all the hidden places lol) and there is a food truck right on the corner. Lots...More

I do travel often to Kailua Kona and usually try to swim at Magic Sands, the ocean here is great and most people come to boggie board, the waves break hard usually so for me its better for swimming.
