We are staying in Kona so this beach is really close (2 mi away). If you can't find parking on the street there is a free parking lot across the street (there is a crosswalk). Nice sand....waves can be rough so watch the lifeguard stand...More

Magic Sands is a small white sand beach. There is parking across the street from the beach. It has bathroom facilities and a lifeguard. There are small lava rock tide pools next to the hotel wall that children were playing in. We happened to go...More

Early morning or later in the evening are better times to avoid the largest crowds. Outdoor shower available. There are also some large lava rocks.

Stayed close so we were at this beach everyday - and each day we saw at least one sea turtle. They will glide through the water even with people close by - just do not touch them! The water was calm most days. We were...More

Not exactly a surf beach but enough waves on the days we were there to make it fun. There were also several sea turtles enjoying the tourists, they would come up and bump you from behind. There are life guards, but is a pretty safe...More

The sand does disappear and reappear all on it's own, but there is a hidden danger when the sand is starting to disappear. Once the surf is up, the rocks start to become exposed and it makes the boggie boarding much more dangerous. There is...More
