Looking for place to take our 2 year old granddaughter.....Not many white sand beaches on Kona but this one is a must...bring plenty of sunscreen and umbrella to shade yourself. We found early was best because the beach is real busy later in the day.

I love what the Hawaiian call the big Island , it's laid back and no traffic jams, much like our rural area in Virginia. You can take your time to enjoy the island. That's beautiful .

Also know as Magic sands beach due to the movement of the sand level with the weather. Pretty good parking available. Bring a lunch or at least some water!

We loved going to this beach area. It was quite close to our condo hotel. There was lots of space for sunbathing. The huge waves were great for surfing and body surfing, as long as you are careful. Parking our vehicle was not a problem.

Recently the bad weather created some large swells which took practically all of the sand off of this beach. It is now a rocky beach with overhead waves that will kill you. If you planned a vacation in this area and the beach is important...More

A great public beach, nice area to swim or picnic. Not very crowded when we went, fairly early 9-10 am.

Aloha, ANY TIME is a great time to visit Kona and White Sand. Stay away from the Cast Ironman (October). They are world travelers and bring absolutely Nothing to Our Island...Nothing-but Hype and allot of traffic congestion... More
