A quiet little beach were there is some sand on top of the lava flows. The lava in the water makes for little places for animals to live. May not be the best pace to snorkel due to the lava and waves but it is...More

We needed a place in the area to waste an hour or so between tours. This little beach park was recommended to us and turned out to be the perfect spot to explore for an hour. We walked around the lava rocks and explore all...More

Stopped by a few years ago to watch the crashing waves during a storm surge. Came a few days ago for a mellow hour in between activities. Will return tomorrow for a couple hours before we board our flight home. No matter how much time...More

Came across this by luck (while waiting to turn our rental car in at the airport) and spent over an hour exploring the lava flows and tidal pools! Almost as good as snorkeling!

This is a beautiful, peaceful little park. Nice place to hang out if you have time to kill but don't want to stray too far from the airport before a flight.

Lots of cool tide-pools, great place to watch the waves really beat the rocks. Huge surf zone, good parking lot with bathrooms. Parking area was very dirty, looks like no one uses a garbage can.

We discovered this sweet, sandy beach by accident, killing time before our delayed flight out of Kona airport. It is probably 15 minutes from the airport/car rental return and a wonderful and easy way to say good-bye or hello for that matter to Hawaii. For...More

Great tide pools. WEAR YOUR WATER SHOES - the sea urchins and slippery lava rock will destroy your feet if you don't. Easy access.
