Walking trail outside was strange; where does it lead too? Cool gift shop, had most things you would want.

We only popped in ..we had already planned our itinerary ..but the very helpful assistant pointed out where they were on a map and suggested an order to follow the various trails. We followed her advice and had a wonderful time

This is the "quieter" entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and it showed on our visit day. There was plenty of parking and barely any people. Informative displays and the rangers were friendly and knowledgeable.

The Oasis visitor center was our only stop a staffed visitor center. The rangers and volunteers were helpful if not a bit reserved. Not quite as big as some other NPS centers but well thought out. Plenty of refill stations for water bottles and packs...More
