United in honoring the heroes of the independence struggle against the Turks. The bones of quite a few of the fighters are in the ossuary and not all lived long enough to experience freedom after 1878. The monument is not only important for Bulgaria, but...More

This Pantheon has an interesting story which speaks a lot about the generation that built it. It's not an extraordinary attraction by itself, but it's worth it

The Pantheon of National Revival Heroes is an interesting place, however badly maintained. The Bulgarian government should definitely spend more for the maintenance of such a historical monument.

This monument no longer looks like the tourist brochures and photos. Surrounding Landscape is dead. Gold dome is faded and tiles gone. Graffiti and tagging has covered the monument. Tiles falling off everywhere. Why has it turned to this? We don't understand. Very sad.

We visited the monument with all the history inside and heard the story of its construction back in the years. Not spectacular and good stopover for a quick hour visit.

The man who was the attendant was very helpful, and the English language brochure was very good. This is a moving tribute to the pioneers of free Bulgaria and very understated. The mosaics. Side. The central dome are really beautiful.
