We had some time to kill and swing by to take a look, but we wouldn’t have missed it had we not stopped. It’s was neat to see the original buildings, but it seems to be mostly a playground of sorts for children. Great information...More

Family loved the stockade. Wish there was a little more information about the place. Watch for wildlife in the area; saw a blue heron in the area. Quick stop.

If your into history and have the time make a quick stop and check the stockade out. Self guided tour doesnt take long and the old buildings are interesting. worth the time if your into black hills history.

This is well worth seeing and it is free. Bring the family especially the kids for a step back in time

The tourist stop has gotten a bit rundown over the years. It does give a good visual as to the size of a fort.

The rain finally stopped and we were able to stop and see the stockade. It's a must see for history buffs. Most of the buildings are still in tact and you can walk around the inside of the Fort.

There is a little information about the stockade on the path leading in. The stockade itself is just a quick, maybe 5 minute, attraction. If you're going by and have the time, make the stop. But don't be too broken up if you miss it.
