Great visit in the early spring. Snow was decorating all trees enhancing the natural beauty. South area of the loop has the Buffalo this time. Best to talk with rangers on where each species is located at your date and time. No food service in early spring so pack along a cooler.

Wonderful drive. A whole lot wildlife to see. We even experienced a traffic jam South Dakota Style. I just wish could upload the actual footage.

Well worth the trip and if you go through the entire park it's beautiful. Bison, Pronghorn, Big Horn, Burros (go figure), Mule and Whitetail deer. We saw them all in just a couple hours driving through.

Take your time and enjoy. Sometimes the wildlife are hard to spot so take it slow. Is a nice winding Road. peaceful.

A beautiful drive through rolling hills and grasslands. We enjoyed seeing the many bisons, deer, ground hogs, and donkeys. Be sure to allow enough time to travel this loop. You don't want to miss any of the sites.

Was a great park, got to see lots of Bison, and the wild donkeys were so funny and the Prairie dogs were a hoot also. I would highly recomend.

First couple of minutes we didn't see much and regretted not going down a road to look at some buffalo, but then after going over a hill a huge heard standing on the road. Not only do you see a bunch of great wildlife, but if you happen to go the donkeys are a must see. They made us laugh... More

If wildlife and beautiful landscape/scenery is your thing, this is a definite must. The entire loop took us about 2 hours to get through and there weren't a whole lot of other cars. The area is filled with Pronghorn Antelope, White-tail deer, Burros (didn't get to see any of these), and of course Bison. Just amazing to see all of... More

We were a little shocked when we drove up and were asked to pay (on the honor system) $20 to drive into Custer State Park. But in the end, it was absolutely worth the money. The wildlife loop road was AMAZING! The first day we drove it was foggy, so we didn't see much except some deer, a few buffalo,... More
