The family history woven into the tour heightened my understanding of Panamanian history. This tour had everything. Details on coffee production, cattle farming and a nice walk into a nature preserve. Small group and Leif was our guide. His grandfather started all this and worked on the Panama Canal . There is even a small airfield! Very personable, warm guide.... More

We really enjoyed the tour of the coffee farm. It was scheduled to be hour long but lasted at least 90 minutes. The guide was part of the family who owned the farm. We asked a ton of questions with the guide knew the answers to all of them. The Gesha coffee was their specialty coffee. The walk between sites... More

Me and a friend went out to the Jansens hoping to do some fishing. My friend could not take his son as he was 12 and not 15. They wanted $50 for one hour, thats $50 a head and that's a lot of money down here. I talked to Emily' Jansens husband and he was completely inflexible. I am just... More

Spent a very interesting 3 hours with one of the Janson family members touring the farm and learning about the specialty coffee business. The tour is very personalized (ours was just my husband and me) and takes you to see various areas on the farm followed by a step-by-step review of the harvesting, drying and roasting process. The tour ended... More

Leif Janson is third-generation manager of this family finch, where they grow some rare and exquisite coffee. We were fortunate to have him guide us on a tour, because his love and passion for coffee, and for Panama, is contagious. Obviously as knowledgeable as anyone oculd be, he communicates tons of information about coffee in an interesting and fun way,... More

I'm not a coffee drinker. I went for the experience and because my wife likes coffee. This blew my mind. We got a personal tour from one of the family owners. He spent more than an hour with just my wife and I showing us the whole process, the history of the area, the insane depth of specialty coffee and... More

We did not take a tour we just stopped by for a taste of coffee. We talked with one of the members of the family that owns the coffee farm. He gave us some really good information on the area. We tasted the coffee and loved it!

We were so glad we heard about the coffee farm in Vulcan and are now a lot more knowledgable about something we drink every day. Emily is very energetic and knowledgable about the processes and techniques from growing through to packaging their award winning coffee. Excellent tour with a very passionate person. There is a lake which you are welcome... More

Had a chance to visit Janson Coffee Farm while visiting relatives in Volcan. It was so much fun. Emily was a fantastic guide who took us on a "seed to cup" tour of this beautiful farm. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and the coffee is fabulous. Take the time to do the entire tour because it is definitely worth it.... More

There is horseback riding available in Bambito at Hotel Bambito- gorgeous- and in a more beautiful mountainous natural setting with a rushing river and the price is in keeping with Panama prices: 10 dollars an hour. There are coffe tours of various businesses for free and for as little as $5 and the horse rental is ridiculously overpriced. Jansen is... More
