Neighbourhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a must go to place. First do a Pims Cup, then a hurricane, then finish with a Sazerac. Jennifer literally is the best bartender ever! Bomb ass personally, so ask for her. Kate is new, but awesome! Just go here. We finish every night at this location. Best ever!

I loved this stop on our haunted history tour. The bar was empty on a Monday night, but it was all velvet and shimmer with a romantic/goth lighting. With the history of the building and the vibe of Gatsby-esque class, it was totally worth a stop. My boyfriend had a sazerac, which ended up being his favorite drink of the entire New Orleans trip.

Off the beaten path. First stop after a wedding in the quarter. Friendly staff. Nice place. Only thing missing was the popcorn. Teased us with the popcorn machine but didn't have any. So, one star off for that. Otherwise great.

We were offered free coupons as staying right next door in Dauphine.
Cocktail of the month was good and strong. Nevertheless offering wine from plastic cup is a shame. Whether the bar is under renovation or not it is unacceptable....so I have no idea how that Pinot Noir tastes....

Nothing special. You can only get in through the hotel pool area. Very limited drink menu. The bartender seemed annoyed at ghost talk or with questions. It wasn't busy, maybe 4-5 patrons in total (including my husband and myself). We were actually excited to see may bailey's because of ghost adventures but it didn't live up to our expectations. It was very ho hum. I would suggest that the owners open the corner doors again for public access....the bar might thrive again.

Finding this pleasant jazz bar just 1 block from the chaos of Bourbon street was a marvelous experience. Friendly staff and good love music

We went here after a hard day of exploring just to unwind (and because the hotel gave us a drink ticket) and we really aren’t big drinkers, Eduardo helped us each pick a drink we would like and watching him make them was like watching a magician at work! Will definitely come back just for Eduardo

I reviewed this place couple years ago.I named it my Fav bar in NOLA because of it's old Victorian charm and decor. It was closed for almost a year and a half for "renovations they said. They were making it like a modern brothel I was told.Well, all they did was but a few modern looking chairs and lights.Took out the library and that's it!! So why was it really closed all that time?? All it is now is a tourist bar for the ghost hunting tours!!

We always look forward to having drinks at May Baileys when we stay at the Dauphine. This time they were closed for renovations. Just want to say we hope you reopen soon!
