I was in New Orleans on assignment and decided to get a reading since I hadn’t done anything like it in a really long time and never by myself. Several people recommended Hex to me in the Fr Quarter and when I did some quick...More
Elie did a reading for my wife, Katie. She always wanted to have something like that done and I figured there wasn’t a better time. After the reading, we went out for dinner and she couldn’t stop talking about it, and smiling. Worth every penny.
My friend and I visited Elie and it was definitely the highlight of our entire trip! You’re going to want to book for the entire 30 minutes, my only regret is I didn’t ask if I could pay more for extra time with her.

I love these kind of shops. Bought a few cards and a little gris gris for a friend, some crystals for myself.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Great book selection. Small inside so when busy can be crammed.
While visiting New Orleans for the first time, I had the opportunity to visit Hex New Orleans. I was really impressed by the shop. It embraces the mystical nature of the city. The best part of visiting the shop was meeting Elie Barnes. She read...More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Depending on how mature your child is, I think maybe 11 or 12 would be the younger side. But I don’t think there’s anything really scary or things that will jump out, and the staff is all really nice. It’s a smaller, crowded... More
Depending on how mature your child is, I think maybe 11 or 12 would be the younger side. But I don’t think there’s anything really scary or things that will jump out, and the staff is all really nice. It’s a smaller, crowded place but has plenty to look at. Could be very cool for a kid who’s interested in magic!
