Too many homeless

Wanted to enjoy this park with 2 dogs. Nice location, but did not care for the residents. Would not return, unless for a concert.

Washington Square Park is located on Frenchmen Street, at the border of the residential end of the street and the strip with the music venues and shops. It has a playground for kids, park benches, big, shady trees, and an open, grassy area in the middle. It can be a nice place to sit and relax if you have been... More

Great location near the Frenchman St clubs and restaurants. Playground for the kids. Nice trees. Would be a lot nicer if there weren't homeless sleeping on the park benches. Doesn't feel quite safe.

small park surrounded by vintage homes but it wasn't all we were lead to believe it was and basically a waste of time for us.

This park is a good place to recharge. Its population includes families on the play equipment, couples, picnickers, and jugglers and other street performers rehearsing and practicing. As much as I enjoy New Orleans, I really enjoy the islands of calm that I find in the neighborhoods. Washington Square park is at the end of the Frenchman St. performance area... More

Nice to walk around or sit in for an hour to watch the practicing street performers, we saw jugglers and watched a film set where they were shooting a TV programme. I would suggest taking a picnic here in the day time or just walking around en route to Frenchmen street and the French quarter for a more authentic NOLA... More

Found this little park while taking a walk on Frenchmen street. Nice enough park and would be great to hang out in. However, there were a lot of drifters in the park that day and several of them were acting "off"... Definitely wouldn't want to bring kids there if that was always the case. Personally, I felt uncomfortable being there... More

Washington Square Park was small but well-suited for its purpose - a local park with enough play equipment, enough open space and enough seats and shade. Locked at night of course.

This park was very nice place to sit and relax. It was a very good spot to stop and watch people. There was music filling the air and lots of restaurants close by.

Went here briefly yesterday to meet a friend who was working in the shops, but this is a nice place to go one street over from the French Quarter past Esplanade avenue. Will go here for sure next time to spend more time here and even have some seafood.

Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
