This bar implements a great concept in which you log the portions of wine that you serve yourself with a microchip that is provided at the bar, which is read when you wish to pay up. There is a very wide variety of choice, and you can spend almost what you wish. I had an excellent amarone and a California... More

This place has become a go-to for us when we want wine in New Orleans (and who doesn't!). Tons of wine on tap to try and sample. They also have some good small plates to snack on while you sip.

A bit outside the super crowded areas of Nola, you can enjoy a cozy wine bar with good selection of red and whites. Some more champagne would be appreciated. Can't miss the cheese and salami cutting table. A nice spot.

WINO is s short walk from the French Quarter for those who wish to taste a wide variety of wines in smaller oz tastings. Always a wide range of highly rated to affordable you can last the really expensive wines without breaking the bank. Small plates can accompany your tasting but probably not a dinner destination. Champagnes, reds and whites... More

This place basically stole $65. Friends had pooled their money to give me a gift card (admittedly a while back). Unfortunately when I tried to use it recently I was told they expire after one year. Gift cards should not expire! The person working was apologetic, but it was not his call to make. My mission is to make sure... More

I'm terribly sorry that you were unable to use your gift card. Electronic gift cards are automatically set to expire after one year. The computer system that has records of the purchased amount of your out of date gift card had been replaced about three years ago, so there is no way to verify the amount of the purchased gift... Helpful staff explained how the tasting works, and it looks like you are tasting it from a tap. Good choices and price ranges vary. It's was a fun and new way to decide what to purchase, a must stop for wine lovers.

Nice place where you can plan your own wine tasting session. Relax, great wines including some very special, from all over the world. Grab a cheese plate and just enjoy.

This is a cute little wine bar with walls of Enomatic machines. I love Enomatic machines because you can purchase and taste wine by the ounce. It gets a little expensive but it's a ton of fun. You check in at the hostess stand and get a card to use in the machines. Your tasting card is your bar tab,... More

An upscale wine by the glass and you have loud hip hop music playing. I enjoyed speaking with the staff and learning about the wines and the dispensers but my gosh the music was not to our liking. We had one drink and left.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
