My four friends and I did the "Queen of the South" tour of the Garden District. Our tour guide was a great mix of safety conscious but fun and entertaining, with lots of great stories. He had hand signals to help the group stay together and safe from vehicles, and we covered quite a big of ground. I never felt... More

This tour is a one-man operation. Bob is the one and only tour guide; it's his business; and he keeps the groups small on purpose. Yes, the bikes are old cruisers - and so what. We signed up for a tour of the city, not the Tour de France. We covered at least 20 miles - all the way from... More

Overall, "the ride with narration' tour was great. Saw lots of interesting things, and a lot more of New Orleans than we would have seen on our own. Two warnings: the bikes are kindof junkers and one of them kept breaking down on our tour. Bob did not have tools to fix it so that was a drag. Yet what... More

Took the longer ride - the narrated tour - which was a great way to spend our only day in New Orleans (wish we had much more time here!). We loved that we got to cover so much ground and get a bit of exercise too. We bike regularly at home, and while it was strange to use cruisers without... More

My husband and I visited New Orleans for our 5th anniversary and decided to take this bike tour. Bob was the most knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating guide I have run across in years! I read a number of history books about New Orleans before visiting, and everything he said was spot on (not always the case on these types of... More

I was born in New Orleans and moved away as a child, but come back frequently to visit family. This trip I decided to take some friends who live in New York with me to experience my home city in a different way. This trip came highly recommended by a coworker so I figured it would be a fun, active... More

We booked a 3 hour tour with Bob. He was very good about being available and returning calls. The day of the ride, he showed up at our hotel with the bikes. The tour was very good. We also sent Bob a text after the ride to get advice about a music club, to which he responded to. The tour... More

Bob is a fantastic tour guide. He's passionate and knowledgeable about New Orleans and its history/culture. My wife and I did the 20 mile city tour and we loved it. It was just the two of us and we got a personalized tour. Bob showed us parts of New Orleans we haven't seen and learned about its history from a... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
