We really enjoyed our cruise and buffet dinner on the Mississippi. We were lucky enough to be there after dark when there was a full moon and a clear sky so the views of the city lit up were fantastic. The food was great and plentiful, but one drawback was the ridiculous school dinner style service where we had to... More

Wee took the 21/2 hour historical Tour Charles the guide made it an unforgetable afternoon Expecially his speach of the hurricain Katrina was both exititing but also at living pictures of the catastrophy and the tremendously chaos and lack of help to New Orleans

We purchased the two day powerpass and wanted to get as much bang for our buck as we could. I'm not sure we would've stumbled upon this otherwise. We chose the Sunday afternoon tour at 2pm. The boat has restrooms and a full car aboard with very reasonable prices. You can also add a Creole style buffet lunch if you... More

Enjoyed this so much-beautiful ride on a great boat-the man greeting is at the boat was rude and crabby but everyone else was so helpful and sweet-and what a view! Love love love those jazz guys too!

The people were very nice and the narrarator had a lot of good history information. Get here about a half an hour early so you can get a good seat. If it rains they do have seats inside so you do not get wet. They offer snacks and drinks on board. The battlefield was great. Not as much time there... More

Wendell was a great tour guide! He was very friendly, educated, and fun to listen to. We had a crazy ride due to a very active storm cell that followed us down the Mississippi. Even though the weather was terrible, Wendell made it very enjoyable. We didn't get off the boat at the battlefield due to the amount of rain... More

Our guide Charles provided a fabulous commentary on both the battle of New Orleans and the trying times during and after the hurricane Katrina catastrophe. Great way to spend a couple of hours in the fresh air

Went on the ship to visit the battle field sight of New Orleans in the war of 1814. Our guide on the ship was Charles. Charles gave so much information about the history of New Orleans and the different battles. I would very much recommend this trip to anyone going to New Orleans, Louisiana

I am not the typical tourist, I don't like to do the commercial touristy stuff, I like to visit places like a local. But I have to say hubby convinced me to do this cruise, we chose the historical one and it was fantastic. The guide was terrific, very knowledgeable. We sat outside in the sun with a Bloody Mary,... Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
